After his 2016 Open Championship challenge faltered, Jason Day said he is looking forward to defending a Major title for the first time when he plays the upcoming PGA Championship.
SOUNDBITE (English) Jason Day, one-over: (On defending his PGA Championship)
"Obviously the PGA is the first time I've ever defended a major championship, so I'll try and soak up the experience of what that entails with regards to the start of the week going to the champion dinner and having to defend that and go to the media and the press room and all that stuff. But once Thursday comes around, you have to go out there and execute and play good. Excited about that, but also excited to defend Canada as well."
SOUNDBITE (English) Rory McIlroy, four-under: (On his form heading into the PGA Championship)
"My results have been decent the last few times I've played. I mean, win at the Irish Open, fourth at Memorial, I had the missed cut but then third in France and it's going to be a top 5 here. So it's not that much wrong. Well, top 5, top 10, we'll see what happens. It's really close. I'm staying positive about it. I feel like good things are happening and just need to -- if I can drive the ball, like I did this week, at Baltusrol and sharpen up a few bits and pieces, I think I'll be right there."
