Top-ranked Lydia Ko eagled the par-5 18th to tie the course record at 9-under 62 and take a share of the second-round lead with Morgan Pressel Saturday in the LPGA Tour's NW Arkansas Championship.
The LPGA's Arkansas Championship continued on Saturday at the Pinnacle Country Club.
China's Jing Yan was out on the course early and recorded her second straight round of 65 to move to 12 under par.
Another early starter, Haeji Kang of South Korea birdied her final two holes to shoot a 63 and move to 11 under. Before this weekend, Kang had missed the cut at her three previous tournaments.
World No. 1 Lydia Ko, looking for her third victory of the year, opened the tournament with a five-under 66. On Saturday, she came in with a back-nine of 28 and a course record-matching 62. At 14-under, the Kiwi also tied the tournament 36-hole record set by Veronica Felibert in 2012.
That record was matched earlier in the afternoon, as Morgan Pressel came in at 128 as well. Pressel, winless since 2008, scattered eight birdies across her card for a 63 and a share of the lead with one round to go.
Three golfers were tied two strokes behind the co-leaders - Yan, Canada's Alena Sharp and Taiwan's Candie Kung. Kung, who has four career wins on the LPGA Tour, shot a five-under 66 to move to 12 under par.
Sharp, who has yet to win on Tour, birdied three of her final four holes to close out a 65 and move within two of the lead.
Australia's Minjee Lee, playing alongside Ko and Stacy Lewis, birdied the par-three 11th to get to nine under but she bogeyed 12 and parred the rest of her round to close with a 69.
