Players react after their rain-delayed first round of the US Open at Oakmont Country Club, Oakmont, Pennsylvania.
SOUNDBITE (English): Bubba Watson, 1-under-par
"I feel good. I said a couple comments yesterday, but the key around any of these venues, no matter what course it is, you're going to make bogeys. If you don't make a bogey, you're going to make it at some point throughout the week, or multiple bogeys. It's not just because of bad golf. It's because of the difficulty. You're going to get a bounce that goes into the rough. You have to lay up on a par four or you're going to hit the green, and it's going to bounce down into the bunker, putted off the green."
SOUNDBITE (English): Jordan Spieth, 2-over-par
"It was tough starting and stopping and conditions changing from when we started to when we finished, but it is what it is. We deal with that here and there. Bit of a shame, because Oakmont is just, it was so great that those practice round days when it started to firm up. Now, you know, it's still great, but it's a different golf course. Overall, I felt like I played well. I felt like I didn't quite get rewarded with my score for how I felt like I played. A couple tough breaks. It's a U.S. Open. Still in it."
SOUNDBITE (English): Rory McIlory, 7-over-par
"I mean it was hard yesterday to get in any sort of rhythm out there just from the stop and start. Obviously it was difficult for everyone out there, but whenever you're not really in control of what you're doing out there and struggling with your golf game, it was sort of just compounded by the fact that it was so stop and start, and I just really struggled."
