Players react after their rain-delayed first round of the US Open at Oakmont Country Club, Oakmont, Pennsylvania.
SOUNDBITE (ENGLISH): Andrew Landry, 4-under-par
"It was good. I obviously played very well. Struck the ball well, putted well, just kind of did everything good. It's just one of those rounds that comes to you not once in a lifetime, but it comes to you once or twice, three times a month, and I'm lucky it was in the first round of the US Open."
SOUNDBITE (English): Lee Westwood, 3-under-par
"It was good. I've been playing really nicely. I've been playing well. Really looking forward to coming back to Oakmont. I had a good experience here the last time, albeit everybody found it tough. I like a challenge. This golf course is certainly a challenge. It tests you mentally. I sort of picked up where I left off at the Masters and the last three weeks I've played. I hit the ball well, a lot of fairways, a lot of greens. I hit it close quite a lot, 26 putts. Made some nice putts out there, and I'm pleased with the start. It's a good way to start this championship. You don't really want to be shooting a lot over par and having to chase."
SOUNDBITE (English): Shane Lowry, 2-under-par
"Yeah, it's a good start. Any time you shoot 68 around this golf course is a good day. Really happy the way I went out this morning. I holed some nice putts, some key putts coming in. I'm probably not going to play any more golf today. 9:05 tee time. So that's probably just beyond the limit of daylight, I think. So I'll just go back and rest up and have a nice afternoon and get out there tomorrow and see what I can do tomorrow."
