Players get in a final practice on Wednesday, a day ahead of the first round of the US Open, Oakmont Country Club, Oakmont, Pennsylvania

With a couple of withdrawals, jeev Singh is delighted to make the field at the US Open starting Thursday.

"It feels great, you know, and I think it's a very pleasant surprise, that's the way I would put it. I was first alternate at Walton Heath in England and I found out last week that a few guys had withdrawn and I'm in. And I said 'Oh, I played here in '07 (the last time the US Open was held at Oakmont) and now I will be here!' And here I am!"

"Honestly, I think I'll relish this, because I've got the experience and you know, I've played this course before and if you get into the Major championships, you've always got an opportunity and the way I look at it, is hey, I've got the experience on my side and if I could win one at the age of 45 or 46, that's something to look forward to. If I can do that, that will be one of the things I've always wanted to do."
