Post-game reaction from Stephen Curry and LeBron James after the Golden State Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 104-89 on Thursday, 2 June, in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
SOUNDBITE (English): Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors Guard:
"I missed some shots and didn't get a rhythm, but the way that they defended, we'll be able to find some adjustments for Game 2. Not worried about that. Just really proud of the way everybody contributed. You don't win championships without the entire squad coming in and making an impact on games. And the way, obviously, Shaun (Livingston) came in, was so composed, got to his spot, had that confidence to knock them down. Andre (Iguodala) the same way. L.B. (Leandro Barbosa.) That's why we're here, everybody having an impact on our team in the game."
SOUNDBITE (English): LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers Forward (Q: What do you make of just what happened tonight and where you are now and just how you get into this series?):
"Well, we've got to be much better in Game 2, obviously. I think defensively we had a game plan and we followed it as much as possible. Well, as great as we could for 48 minutes. We had some breakdowns, which we know we can get better with. Offensively, we've got to be much better. We've got to be much better moving the ball, moving bodies. They're a great team when you just hold the ball and pound the ball. So we've got to do a better job with that, which Coach Lue and the coaching staff will make sure we do in Game 2. So we look forward to the challenge again. Just two days in between doesn't help. It doesn't feel good. But it gives our body a chance to get some rest."
