Tom Thibodeau was officially introduced as the Minnesota Timberwolves head coach and president of basketball operations in Minneapolis

"I can't begin to tell you how happy I am to be back. I'd like to begin by thanking Glen (Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor) for this unbelievable opportunity. When I was looking at possible teams to get back into coaching there were three things I was looking for; one was to have a great roster to build with and obviously we have that and I want to thank our guys for coming today. And secondly I wanted to know who I would be working for and who I would be working with."

"For me personally, this is about alignment. It's not about power. It's not about any of that stuff. I've known Scott (Scott Layden, new Timberwolves general manager) a long time. We've shared our philosophies with each other and we feel very strongly about certain things. So he was the person that I really wanted. So I'm glad we had the opportunity to get him."

"The big thing with me is I don't want our players looking backwards, I don't want them looking ahead, I want them concentrating on what they have to do each and every day. If we're doing the right things every day the results are going to take care of themselves. I don't want to put a lid on what we could do or what we can't do. I want us doing the right things, I want us doing them at a championship level right from the beginning. So I think when we start off we want to begin with the end in mind. So hopefully someday we will be in the playoffs. Whether it's next year or the following year I don't know but I believe in doing what's right each and every day and I want to prepare like we are going to be there."
