FIS World Cup action saw Italian racer Peter Fill take a big fall at Santa Caterina, Italy on Tuesday (29 December).
Peter Fill is one of Italy's most consistent performers on the downhill ski slopes.
But really, he never looked truly comfortable at one of the most treacherous downhill course of the FIS World Cup season so far, on a rapid and uncontrolled tumble down the slope at Santa Caterina, Italy on Tuesday (29 December).
Fill - one of twelve men who failed to finish - was fortunate to escape with just bruises and injured pride - and has even managed to retain his fourth spot in the downhill overall standings.
The Italian has been competing on the World Cup stage since 2002, with his best result best overall finish coming back in 2007 when Fill ended up in sixth.
His best individual performance for the season was in the downhill of that very same year. Fill will be sure to have better days than this on one of his home courses.
