Austria's Marcel Hirscher won the World Cup giant slalom in Val d'Isere, France on Saturday (12th December).
Marcel Hirscher earned a record fifth win in Val d'Isere with a dominating performance in a World Cup giant slalom on the treacherous Face de Bellevarde.
Hirscher, who also won last week's giant slalom in Beaver Creek, won by a massive margin of 1.29 seconds ahead of Felix Neureuther.
Victor Muffat-Jeandet completed the podium in the French Alps, 1.58 seconds off the pace.
Hirscher had earlier posted the fastest time in the first leg, finishing ahead of Henrik Kristoffersen and Muffat-Jeandet.
The Austrian technical specialist made very few errors on the bumpy course and clocked a time of 1 minute, 5.31 seconds, 0.14 seconds faster than Kristoffersen, with Muffat-Jeandet 0.18 seconds off the pace.
