Denmark duo Jan Jorgensen and Viktor Axelsen and India's Kidambi Srikanth commented after registering their second victories at the BWF World Super Series Finals in Dubai on Thursday (10 December).
SOUNDBITE (English) Viktor Axelsen, Denmark (on winning despite losing twice to his rival earlier in the season)
"Of course you think about it when you prepare for the match and you see that you have to play against him. But today is a new day and I know that and I'm a different player from the last time we played together, so..... I just went out there and tried to correct my mistakes from previous matches and that worked out pretty well for me".
SOUNDBITE (English) Jan Jorgensen, Denmark (on what sparked his two wins)
"I had a early exit in Hong Kong. So I just rushed back to Denmark in order to get some practice and some.... you know when you lose early you go back home and try to fix all the small things which went wrong, I tried to do that and then I pushed the limit a bit too much. So I ended up having a bit of a cold before I went here, but with the hot weather and good food and relaxing, it is going better and I feel well. I look forward to going to court again tomorrow and hopefully another good game".
SOUNDBITE (English) Kidambi Srikanth, India (on losing his match)
"The strategy I played... I couldn't really get that. At the end I know I got it right, I think it was too late.. by the time I got it".
SOUNDBITE (English) Kidambi Srikanth, India (on reasons for two losses in this tournament)
"It's always tough to play at the highest level, but then you have to do it to become a good player. You can't say any excuses, its just that I lost it. But I don't have any excuses now. I played and I'm happy with the way I played, that's it."
