After playing out the last year of his LA Lakers contract, NBA star Jeremy Lin opted to become free agent for the forthcoming season, and he's been discussing his future at a press event in Taiwan.
SOUNDBITE: (Mandarin) Jeremy Lin: "This is the first time I have become a restricted free-agent. Actually, I am quite happy about this. It's because I feel that it is important to me to find the team, the coach with the style and the system that fit me, for example, I like a fast game, I like a pick-and-roll."
Lin was speaking in Taipei, where he's considered a local hero, before starting a week-long basketball camp with 60 high school students.
He also told the press which coach and player he'd most like to play for and with from this year's NBA all-star team.
SOUNDBITE: (Mandarin) Jeremy Lin: "At the moment, half of the NBA teams are doing the pick-and-roll and there are many coaches teaching this technique, but if I can choose, I would love Mike D'Antoni for the head coach job ... I think if I can play with Anthony Davis, it will be great. It does not matter where I throw the ball, he can slam dunk. I love this kind of player most."
Lin has already played for the New York Knicks, where he averaged a career-high 14.6 points and 6.2 assists per game. He's also played for the Houston Rockets.
He could attract attention from many teams. Current champions Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks and Sacramento Kings have all been mentioned.
