SOUNDBITE: (English), Chicago Bulls General Manager Gar Forman:
"We are thrilled today to introduce Fred Hoiberg as the new head basketball coach of the Chicago Bulls. In Fred we feel strongly that we've got a guy with a skill package, a winning coach, a guy who is a natural leader and a great, great communicator."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Chicago Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg:
"For me I understand this league, playing 10 years and working in the front office for 4. I know what this league is all about and that's the guys. And I'm going to do everything I can to support them and work with them and hopefully bring this group to where we are competing for a World Championship.
SOUNDBITE: (English) Fred Hoiberg:
"I think the big thing for me is I have always run an NBA type system. Again, I'm not coming into this having never experienced NBA basketball. My ten years as a player - after my first surgery back in '05 when my career was cut short I was planning on playing at least another 5 years. You have to rally to kind move on to the next phase of your life and those 4 years in the front offices were as valuable of years for me as any I ever had. I played for some great coaches - going to college Johnny Orr, I played for Tim Floyd for a year. Coming into the NBA Larry Brown was my first NBA coach. I played for Larry Bird, I played for Kevin McHale - two guys that didn't have coaching experience, but knew the game because they were players."
