Pope Francis tries a basketball trick as he meets the Harlem Globetrotters at the Vatican.

Perhaps it wasn't his basketball skills that had the Harlem Globetrotters in awe of Pope Francis. But meeting the head of the Catholic church left Herbert "Flight Time" Lang on a high,

SOUNDBITE (English) Herbert "Flight Time" Lang:

"I just met the Pope, we all have just met the Pope and we are definitely very excited. I mean we have been able to do a lot of things in our lives and meeting the Pope it's probably at the top of that list right now"

"I met the President (Barack Obama) twice and we have all met a bunch of famous people, but I have to say today was the most nervous I've been in long time. It was a good excitment though"

The meeting at the Vatican came as part of their tour of Italy, the Pope is no stranger to touring himself, indeed he'll be meeting Raul Castro at the Vatican on Sunday four months before he heads to Cuba, He'll be only the third Pontiff to visit the country, and the Globetrotters are willing to follow...

SOUNDBITE (English) Herbert "Flight Time" Lang:

"We have been to hundred and twenty of different countries and territories around the world. I don't think that Cuba is a place where we have to been to but I'm sure that if they open the door there is no worry that we won't play"

Indeed, who knows, if they time it right, perhaps it could even be the Pope's debut show....
