"It means a lot to me. I know it means a lot to the organisation. Being the first player to win this award. Should bring a lot of hope for the future of the Minnesota Timberwolves. It'll give a lot of people a different look at things. This is the uprising. We've got a lot of young talent. We accomplished a lot this year. We've got a lot of young players moving forward and the future is promising."

(Q. "You talked about it a little bit that the summer was a little bit crazy for you. Going through all the trade stuff. Once you finally got here, how did your expectations for what the season was going to be like, for what Minnesota was going to be like align with the realities now that you've been here for a year and experienced it?")

"My expectations were a lot different than they would have been in Cleveland. Cleveland, playing behind the best player in the NBA would have been different than here obviously. I came in here as a starter, expecting to do a lot more than I would have on the other team. That's the thing that helped me grow a lot this year. All the minutes and the experience and I was in the games so I think that really helped me a lot."

"Because there aren't a lot of people that have done it. Especially being the first Canadian, the first Timberwolf to accomplish and get this award just shows how great it is."
