"Sidney (Crosby) is past the infectious stage as of yesterday. He probably could have been here today but we took an extra day to be cautious. And as far as I know he will return tomorrow or the next day. One update though, we have one player that has the symptoms for mumps and that's Beau Bennett. The tests will come back tomorrow. So we don't know whether it's positive or not. But we've taken the proper steps to make sure that he's quarantined and not around anybody else at this point in time."

"You know, we have different outbreaks of different viruses at different times. In this situation we have five teams in the National Hockey League that have dealt with players that have the mumps. But there are other viruses that we deal with, like the flu virus on a regular basis that spreads the same way. So it's not as if over the years we haven't had things to deal with. But it seemed in my long history of my lifetime that the mumps were gone decades ago and now here we are dealing with it again."
