Perth Glory, leaders of A-League in Australia, were cruising leading 2-0 against Wellington Phoenix, in their seventh game of the season on Friday night.
That was when Perth Glory coach Kenny Lowe replaced defender Rostyn Griffiths in the 61st minute.
Ruben Zadkovich, was the substitute and he was on the pitch barely 17 seconds, when he committed a foul on Wellington midfielder Vince Lia.
The referee, Lucien Laverdure, took his time before showing a straight red card to Zadkovich.
The red for Zadkovich is up there with one of the fastest in history, not quite challenging the eight seconds that Serge Djiehoua was on the pitch in a Greek League game last year.
Perth Glory won the match 2-1 to lead the A-League standings with 18 points after seven games.
Yet the red card for Zadkovich is what will live long in the memory.
