SOUNDBITE: English, Mikaela Shiffron:
"I was so excited have the first race of the season. Everyone's pretty nervous, because you don't know where you stack up. So really excited to get that win under my belt. And my first GS win, first race of the season and now we have a slalom coming up in a couple of weeks so it's just kind of a nice introduction to the season."
SOUNDBITE: English, Mikaela Shiffron:
"Yeah well it was definitely exciting to get my first win in giant slalom. Hopefully there are more to come soon hereafter. I've been training a little bit of Super G. I know everyone is pretty anxious to hear when I'm going to be racing my first Super G. The date is not set, but it's going to be sometime this winter and hopefully before World Championships so I can at least give myself the chance to maybe take a stab at racing World Championships Super G."
SOUNDBITE: English, Julia Mancuso:
"Yeah I'm excited about this season. Last winter was tough. I really redeemed my whole season by the Olympics. I had good results there. So I just started from scratch again, but I think it's good. I've been competing on the tour for almost 15 years. So it's good to have some down moments to revamp and get excited. I'm ready to do four more years. I'm feeling good and I'm excited to try and get back on the podium again this year in the World Cup."
SOUNDBITE: English, Andrew Weibrecht:
"Yeah to me there are only two courses that are real downhills in the world and that's Kitzbuhel and Beaver Creek, so top two is not bad. It's one of those courses that from start to finish is just full-on. There's really no breaks. It's a ton of fun as an athlete. I think as a spectator it might even be more fun - looking at some of the crashes that we've had there and looking at some of the cool races - all the way up to Ted (Ligety and Body (Miller) getting first and second there last year."
