Jose Mourinho confirmed that Diego Costa will be absent from Tuesday's clash with the Slovenian Champions.

Diego Costa - who missed Chelsea's game at Crystal Palace last weekend - was absent from Monday's training session after he aggravated his hamstring problems on international duty.

Chelsea fear that the Spanish striker could be out for a total of three weeks, which would rule him out of the Londoners' trip to Old Trafford at the weekend.

Apart from Costa, Jose Mourinho has a number of other players ruled out of selection for the visit of Maribor.

John Mikel Obi, Andre Schurrle and Ramires will all be absent.

Chelsea sit top of Group G on four points, with Maribor & Schalke both on two.

Chelsea are on an eleven match unbeaten run- stretching back to April's Champions League semi final defeat to Atletico Madrid.
