Englishman Gary Hunt claimed a fourth Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series title triumph following a second place finish in Bilbao on Saturday (20th September).

    Script:

Going into Bilbao's Red Bull Cliff Diving title, Artem Silchenko was looking to take the competition into the final weekend.

He knew a top placed finish was essential as well as Britain's Gary Hunt finishing off the podium would take it into Mexico and the final round.

Artem Silchenko looked to the crowd for inspiration as he sat atop the daunting drop, The Russian notching a dive of 522.40 and that put him ontop of the leaderboard.

It was therefore up to the Brit, Hunt to register a score of 450 plus to finish inside the top 3 and claim the title back off Silchenko.

The Brit registered a score of 501.08, the 30-year-old looking as if he felt that to be good enough for the title.

Hunt secured a fourth Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series title triumph as he finished second behind Silchenko.

Despite Silchenko's victory not being enough to prolong the championship battle , the 30-year-old leapfrogs Steve LoBue to climb into second, yet still a mammoth 230 points behind Hunt with only Mexico to come.
