    South Korea booked themselves a spot in the final of badminton's Sudirman Cup after beating Thailand 3-1 in the semi-finals in Malaysia on Saturday.

    South Korea, the triple Sudirman Cup winners, had beaten the Thais 5-0 in the group stage.

    In the mixed double match, Korea's pair Ko Sung Hyun and Kim Ha Na beat their Thai counterparts, 21-18, 21-19.

    Thailand levelled thanks to their current world number eight Ponsana Boonsak, who beat Lee Dong Keun in two sets, 21-9, 21-12 in 34 minutes.

    It was a first defeat in this tournament for Lee.

    In men's doubles, Korean duo Ko Sung Hyun and Lee Yong Dae continued their unbeaten run in the tournament, defeating with a 21-12, 21-11 win that gave them a 2-1 lead.

    And in the women's singles Korea's Sung Ji Hyun faced the Thai's rising sensation, 19-year-old Inthanon Ratchanok, with Sung sealing a 21-17, 21-14 victory.

    South Korea will face the winners of the semi-final between defending champions China and Denmark.
