It was semi-finals day at the India Open tournament in New Delhi on Saturday, round four of the 12-event Badminton Super Series.
The top-ranked mixed doubles pairing, Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir of Indonesia, got the action underway and it took the two-time defending champions just 20 minutes to dismiss the challenge of Polish fifth seeds Robert Mateusiak and Nadiezda Zieba 21-5, 21-10.
The first men's semi pitched Japanese number six seed Kenichi Tago against the last Indian player in the men's draw, Anand Pawar.
There was to be no joy for the home fans though as Tago cruised to a comfortable 21-16, 21-11 victory.
Danish number two seeds Christinna Pedersen and Kamilla Rytter Juhl were next up.
The Danes made it through to their first final of the 2013 Super Series season, closing out a 21-18, 21-12 victory.
Tago's opponent in the men's final will be world number one and top seed Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia, who overcame Thai number seven seed Boonsak Ponsana.
After looking outclassed in losing the first set 21-11, Ponsana did well to take the next 21-18 to leel the match.
Lee reasserted his authority though and pulled away to take the third 21-8 and booked his place in a fourth consecutive Super Series final.
The first finallist in the Women's singles draw was also decided, with Thai number three seed Ratchanok Intanon overcoming P.V. Sindhu of India in a battle between two teenagers.
Intanon, at eighteen, a year older than Sindhu, won comfortably 21-12, 21-6 and the beaten finallist at the All England tournament will meet either German number two seed Juliane Schenk or the unseeded Aprilla Yuswandari of Indonesia.
