Home favourites dominate Chinese Masters

    Chinese shuttlers are through into all five finals of BWF Superseries China Masters in Changzhou, China on Saturday.

    Script:

    The China Masters, the first major badminton event since the London Olympics, reached the semi-final stage in Changzhou on Saturday.

    With the world's two top players in men's singles Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei both skipping the event, it gave the some veteran players the chance to shine in China.

    One of them was Hong Kong's 31-year-old Hu Yun, who booked his spot in the final by beating India's Ajay Jayaram 21-16, 21-18.

    He will face the winner of match between top-seeded Chinese pair, Chen Long and Du Pengyu.

    In the women's singles, China's number four seed Jiang Yanjiao took on Sindu PV of India.

    The 17-year-old Sindhu defeated Olympic champion Li Xuerui in the quarterfinals.

    Jiang showed some great defensive skills under huge pressure and ended the Indian youngster's unbeaten run in her first ever Superseries by securing victory in one hour and six minutes.

    In the mixed doubles, Qiu Zihan and Tang Jinhua of China beat the number two seed - Thai pair Sudket Prapakamol and Saralee Thoungthongkam 21-16, 19-21, 21-17.

    Meanwhile, the women's doubles semi-final China's Bao Yixin and Zhong Qianxin secured an easy win over Malaysia's Goh Liu Ying and Lim Yin Loo 21-1 21-14.
