Bookmakers favourite Chachamaidee won the Lennox Stakes at Goodwood on Tuesday with a length-and-a-half victory over Libranno.

Goodwood on Tuesday and the crowds were out in their finery to watch the Lennox Stakes.

Chachamaidee had collected a Group Three prize at this meeting 12 months ago, but faced a sterner test on her return to the Sussex Downs.

A slow start had cost Sir Henry Cecil's charge a likely victory in the Windsor Forest Stakes at Royal Ascot last month and she was once again last out of the stalls in the hands of Tom Queally.

However, not long before Chachamaidee was very much back on the winning trail, seizing a convincing victory over her male counterparts.

The crowd roared as the 5-4 favourite passed the post with a length and a half in hand over Libranno, who just edged out Mac Love for second.
