The German ski resort of Ofterschwang was bathed in sunshine on Saturday for the latest event on the women's Alpine World Cup calendar, the giant slalom.
It was the second such race in two days on the 'Ofterschwanger Horn',
Overall World Cup leader Lindsey Vonn was down in sixth after the first run.
The American downhill champion needed to produce something special on her second run, and duly delivered.
Vonn upped the ante to take the lead with five skiers still to go..
Slovenia's Tina Maze started with a two-thirds-of-a-second advantage over the American but that went up in smoke as the world champion missing out on top spot by seven hundredths of a second.
With just Germany's Viktoria Rebensburg to go - things were getting tense at the bottom of the course
But the local favourites held a massive 1.68-second lead over Vonn from the first run and never looked like giving it up.
Rebensburg then proceeded to ski the percentages to secure victory by just over a quarter of a second to make it two wins from two after another GS win on Friday and extend her lead over Vonn in the event's standings to 135 points.
Meanwhile Vonn's advantage over Maze in the overall World Cup standings increased to 494 points.
