Newcastle forward Andy Carroll is trying to shift his £5m Essex mansion - and the property is certainly gaining attention online.

The former West Ham man owned the plush pad during his time down south but after returning to his boyhood club, he's decided to try and flog it.

The house is certainly attracting interest, with no other property on Rightmove being looked at more than the nine-bedroom one on offer.

Carroll's place is located in more than an acre of landscape grounds and as well as the nine bedrooms, holds a huge kitchen, games room and cinema room.

And the house even comes with a kinky extra, in the form of a ceiling mirror in the master bedroom.

A replica Angel of the North model sits in the drive, while football nets occupy the back garden.

A spokesman for Rightmove commented on the property, saying: "The rest of the property is littered with mega-mansion must-haves, including a home cinema, two dressing rooms, an annexe games room and a massive garden perfect for summer barbecues."

Rightmove's second-most viewed property belongs to Phil Neville and is situated in Manchester city centre.

The 45th-floor penthouse is up for sale for £3.5m and showcases a stunning view of the northern city.

"As the only apartment in our top five, this penthouse is pretty special – the property oozes class and sophistication and the views across the city, including Old Trafford, are simply spectacular," a Rightmove spokesman said.

"Entering the apartment from the main entrance on the 45th level you will be greeted by the luxurious, curved reception hallway taking in the polished marble tiled flooring and fashionable Wenge-stained timber.

"The triple-level home in Beetham Tower is the height of luxury, boasting floor-to-ceiling windows, a cinema room and multiple terraces from which to enjoy the high life, quite literally."

Carroll moved back to Newcastle in the summer after completing a deadline day free transfer.

The injury-prone striker is back to full fitness and starting to find his feet at his boyhood club.
