Schalke goalkeeper sent off for flying kick on Eintracht Frankfurt player

Goalkeeper Alexander Nuebel was sent off for a flying kick on Mijal Gacinovic during Schalke's 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday.

Nuebel was shown a straight red card when his studs collided with Gacinovic's chest during the second half, drawing similarities to Nigel de Jong's challenge on Xabi Alonso in the 2010 World Cup final.

The Frankfurt forward wasn't able to continue after the blow and was replaced by Goncalo Paciencia.

Despite being a man down for the remaining quarter of the match, Schalke held on for all three points at the Veltins Arena.
