Mandzukic linked with Man United
Mario Mandzukic joined Juventus in 2015 from Atletico Madrid.
Mandzukic has gone on to feature 162 times across all competitions for Juventus.
In those 162 games, the Croatian has scored 44 and assisted 24.
However, the 33-year-old is rather struggling for game time under Maurizio Sarri.
In fact, Mandzukic has yet to play for Juventus during the 2019/20 campaign.
Now, according to The Athletic, Manchester United are planning to launch a bid for the Juve striker in January.
The report from The Athletic claims that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer came close to landing Mandzukic in the summer window, with the United boss still said to be interested in bringing Mandzukic to Old Trafford.
Solskjaer targeting forwards
Rumours of Mandzukic making the move to Old Trafford comes around the same time that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been speaking about United's transfer plans.
Solskjaer recently spoke about how United will be looking to improve their forward area the next time that they recruit:
"Of course, we let Alexis and Romelu go, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to see that it's forward that next time we're going to recruit. We're looking for some creativity and goals." As quoted by the Telegraph.
United currently have Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood who can play at centre-forward.
So, signing the 6ft 3 Mandzukic would certainly give Solskjaer another option in attack.
