He said: "I've got a year left. There's a very good chance I'll be here next season.

"If that's that then I'm going to try my best as I always do and I'll enjoy it. I love the group here and the fans. There's no bad side to what's happening.

"There's a good chance I'll be here next season and I'll try and beat my assists record next season as well."

21:00 UPDATE: Pogba to Real Madrid warning

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane should ignore president Florentino Perez's desire to sign Paul Pogba from Man Utd this summer, Spanish football expert Graham Hunter claims.

"It's absolutely imperative that in your rebuilding of Los Blancos, you don't sign Paul Pogba," Hunter told Bet365.

"The president wants him, it's good for marketing, but he's not the right man.

"You [Zidane] have stated that the absolute priority in 19/20 is to win the title, not the Champions League.

"Do you need a world-class centre-half? Yes, you know you do.

"And I know you want to promote your own son Luca and kick out one of the top two goalkeepers.

"I would say keep [Thibaut] Courtois, move Keylor [Navas] on. Age demands.

"If you're going to get it right, use your eyes, listen to your heart, don't listen to your president."

20:10 UPDATE: Higuain to stay at Chelsea?

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has admitted he doesn't know if Gonzalo Higuain will be staying at Stamford Bridge.

"I don't know about Gonzalo Higuain's future, you have to ask the club," he said speaking to BBC's Match of the Day.

"If he's staying then we can do very well in the next season.

"For a striker, it is not easy to play here, when you're used to playing in Spain and Italy.

"It's not easy to adapt to this competition because it's different physically."

19:20 UPDATE: Man Utd rejected

Man Utd have been REJECTED by Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt as they lined up a £60million transfer this summer.

United were prepared to offer the Dutch youngster a five-year-deal worth a staggering £250,000-a-week.

But De Ligt rejected Ole Gunnar Solskjaer even before their hopes of finishing in the top four were dashed at the weekend.

A source close to De Ligt said: "Matthijs is going to become the best defender in the world.

"He will have the choice to join whoever he wants, but he has no interest in going to United.

"They are not the attractive proposition they once were.

"He knows he is in a strong bargaining position because his stock has risen so fast.

"He's one of the most in demand stars on the planet."

18:00 UPDATE: Sancho to Man Utd off?

Manchester United will not sign Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho this summer.

Red Devils chiefs had lined up Dortmund's Sancho as their top target and were willing to pay a club-record £100million to get him.

But the Mail have now revealed that the move is in tatters because United haven't qualified for the Champions League.

Sancho, 19, is under contract until 2022 but it's claimed he was 'open' to the idea of moving to the Red Devils. That's despite him learning his craft at fierce rivals Manchester City.

However, it's now said that United's chances of signing the winger are 'doubtful' after a late-season collapse saw they miss out on the top four.

16:00 UPDATE: Arsenal talks

Arsenal are set to miss out on the signing of Nicolas Pepe from Lille because the forward is too expensive.

France Football claim Arsenal have opened talks with Lille about a potential transfer but the French club's asking price will be too high for the Gunners.

It's also thought that Arsenal's budget for the summer will be around £40million, while Lille will ask for around £65m for Pep, who is Ligue 1's second top scorer this season with 20 goals.

Manchester United and Chelsea are also keen on the Ivorian international and would have more money to spend in the coming months.
