Argentine children respond to Lionel Messi criticism

The criticism Lionel Messi receives in Argentina has often been a source of confusion for European fans, however Argentine children have responded by letting the forward know just how much they adore him.

After admitting in an interview that his son, Thiago, asks him just why people in Argentina dislike him so much, a television program has moved to surprise both Messi and his eldest child.

TyC Sports showed the Barcelona captain a video in which children from Argentina showed their support for him.

"Your dad is the best in the world," one child stated. "Stay calm, we all love you in Argentina.

"You should be proud of your father, he has football in his heart and he touches all Argentines."
