Liverpool inform Atletico Madrid of Marko Grujic price-tag

As per a report from ESPN, Liverpool have informed Spanish giants Atletico Madrid of the fee that it will take to prise Marko Grujic away from the club this summer.

Liverpool starlet

23-year-old Grujic was the first signing of the Jurgen Klopp era at Liverpool, making the move to Merseyside from boyhood club Red Star Belgrade for a fee of around £5 million.

However, his tender years, coupled with the competition for places at Anfield, have since seen Grujic go on to make just 8 Premier League appearances for the Reds.

As such, the all-action midfielder has been farmed out on a trio of loans, the latest of which saw Grujic make the move to Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin last summer.

And, despite a pair of ankle injuries having restricted the Serb's time on the pitch, Grujic has gone on to establish himself as one of the capital outfit's star performers.

All told, the Liverpool loanee has notched 4 goals and an assist across 19 Bundesliga appearances this season.

Atleti interest

And, as per the aforementioned report from ESPN this evening, Grujic's impressive form at the Olympiastadion Berlin has certainly not gone unnoticed across Europe.

With Hertha not expected to hold onto the gifted midfielder beyond the end of the campaign, Spanish powerhouse Atletico Madrid are said to have added Grujic to their summer wishlist.

The 8-time capped international is viewed as a potential replacement for Rodri, who is rumoured to be of interest to Premier League champions Manchester City.

Grujic, though, will not come on the cheap.

ESPN claim that Liverpool will demand a fee of around 40 million Euro to part with the 23-year-old.

'Really think about me'

Speaking in an interview with ESPN back in February, Grujic had the following to say when questioned on the possibility of remaining at Anfield next season:

'If I keep performing like I do now, then there are chances to come back to Liverpool for another season. I'll return with more experience and better abilities. It depends on what the clubs will decide at the end of the season.'

'I think [there is a] plan for the future. From every chat we had so far, I thought that they really think about me.'
