STOKE City and England keeper Jack Butland has welcomed a baby son this week.

The 26-year-old has become a dad for the first time after his fiancée Annabel Peyton gave birth.

His newborn son, George Matthew Butland, was welcomed with a sweet social media post.

Jack's club, Stoke City, let him miss Good Friday's Championship clash away to Middlesbrough to get to know his new son a bit better.

The Potters tweeted a picture of the happy couple cradling their baby in their arms.

They captioned the adorable snap: "Jack misses out today following the birth of his son, George Matthew Butland.

"Congratulations to Jack and his partner."

Stoke lost 1-0 at the Riverside Stadium.

Jack and Annabel met in Dubai when Stoke were on a mid-season break in 2016.

The pair got engaged on a romantic trip to Italy last year.

Jack — who has nine senior caps for England — was part of Gareth Southgate's World Cup squad last summer in Russia.

He didn't get a chance to play, serving as backup to first choice and Everton keeper Jordan Pickford.

Jack was also named in England's most recent squad for last month's Euro 2020 qualifying games against the Czech Republic and Montenegro.

He joined Stoke from Birmingham City in 2013 and has gone on to make 130 appearances for the club in all competitions.
