Isco is Zidane's first signing

The transfer market hasn't opened yet, but Isco's performances during Zinedine Zidane's first two matches back on the Real Madrid bench mean the man from Malaga has been like a new signing for Los Blancos.

Isco had lived through a hellish 2018/19 season, which featured surgery on his appendix, a lack of playing time under Santiago Solari and even a disciplinary issue.

Yet he is back on the pitch and back at the heart of the action, having scored his side's opening goal each of the matches since Zidane's return, against Celta Vigo and against Huesca.

Few expected to see the wonderful Isco of the past this season, but Zidane's arrival has unlocked his talent and there is now somebody else for the crowd at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu to cheer about.

By bringing Isco back in from the shadows, Zidane is already adding weapons to his squad.
