Late George Moncur winner moves Luton five points clear at top of League One

George Moncur’s stunning late free-kick saw Luton win their top-of-the-table clash with Portsmouth 3-2.
The two sides were locked at 2-2 with four minutes left, before Moncur stepped up to curl his set-piece into the bottom corner to settle a pulsating Sky Bet League One contest.
In snowy conditions, Luton had by far the better of the first half: James Justin’s 20-yarder was parried by Craig MacGillivray, Luke Berry blasted narrowly wide and Kazenga LuaLua shot straight at the visiting keeper.
Luton made the deserved breakthrough in the 39th minute when LuaLua fed Collins to find the bottom corner.
After the break, Pompey were much improved and levelled in the 51st minute, Ronan Curtis side-footing into the bottom corner, while Luton stopper James Shea made an excellent save from Bryn Morris.
Shea repelled another blast from Curtis, while Justin saw his 25-yarder flipped over by MacGillivray.
Town then retook the lead in the 77th minute when LuaLua went over under Jack Whatmough’s challenge and Collins blasted home the spot-kick.
Pompey equalised two minutes later through debutant Omar Bogle only for Moncur to win it.
