David Ball hit a 96th-minute winner as Bradford boosted their survival hopes with a 4-3 win over Shrewsbury.
It looked like City had thrown away their chance of victory after Fejiri Okenabirhie scored a 93rd-minute penalty to level the scores three minutes into stoppage time.
Jack Payne put Bradford ahead after 19 minutes when his shot took a wicked deflection off Anthony Grant.
Okenabirhie levelled nine minutes later after slotting home from close range.
Lewis O’Brien restored the lead with 38 minutes gone after firing in from the edge of the box.
Eoin Doyle put City in firm control after Ball’s shot was blocked with 61 minutes gone following a good spell of pressure.
Okenabirhie curled home a brilliant free-kick after 76 minutes to set up a tense finish and he levelled from the spot three minutes into stoppage time to complete his hat-trick after Paul Caddis fouled Sam Smith.
But Ball sealed a stunning win for the Bantams as he weaved his way into the box before firing home.
