Jose Mourinho sack: Real Madrid WOULD turn to Man Utd boss ‘on one condition’

REAL MADRID would only appoint Jose Mourinho as their manager again if he can promise to bring the same success he did the first time.

That is according to ESPN FC pundit Steve Nicol, who also does not see why anyone would want him back at Madrid.

The Special One was Real Madrid manager for three years between 2010 and 2013.

The Portuguese coach won one La Liga title and one Copa del Rey during his stint at the club.

But he fell out with a number of key figures at the Bernabeu including Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos and Cristiano Ronaldo, a similar story that has followed him from club to club.

He left Los Blancos by mutual consent in the summer of 2013, describing his final campaign at the Bernabeu as his worst in coaching.

Manchester United boss Mourinho has been under pressure at Old Trafford and has remarkably been linked with a return to Real.

But Nicol cannot see why the Spanish giants would want the 55-year-old back after how it ended last time.

"I’d go back to someone I’ve had before if it was an outstanding success,” Nicol said.

"But, the truth is, when Mourinho left Madrid it was an absolute shambles.

"It’s kind of what is going on at United right now.

"So I see no reason whatsoever why anybody at Real Madrid would want Mourinho back.

"So no (it won’t happen).”

Real boss Julen Lopetegui is reportedly close to being sacked after a poor start to the season.

Los Blancos have already lost three La Liga games this term and sit seventh in the table.

Meanwhile, Mourinho's United are 10th in the Premier League having lost the same number of matches.

The Red Devils also have just four points from their first three Champions League group games.
