MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho is ready to pick Marcus Rashford over Alexis Sanchez for the Red Devils’ Premier League clash with Chelsea, reports say.

Manchester United face Chelsea this weekend fresh off the back of a 3-2 victory over Newcastle before the international break.

Sanchez scored the winner for Mourinho that day, heading home late on after from Juan Mata and Anthony Martial had struck.

Manchester United remain a team firmly in the spotlight, however, and need to beat Chelsea to keep their faint hopes of Premier League glory alive.

Many have tipped Sanchez to start after the 29-year-old’s heroics against Newcastle a fortnight ago.

But the Mirror say that, because of his international break, Sanchez is primed to make way for Rashford.

The Chile international played the full 90 minutes as Chile edged Mexico 1-0 on Wednesday night.

He then only arrived back at Heathrow airport on Friday morning.

Jet lag, the Mirror say, means Rashford is in line to replace the forward in Mourinho’s planned United attack.

The England international was criticised by his manager for his performance against Newcastle two weeks ago.

But he found the net for Gareth Southgate’s side as they beat Spain 3-2 in a thrilling Nations League showdown.

Sanchez’s likely omission will come at a time where the United player’s long-term future in uncertain.

On Thursday night, reports emerged claiming the forward was keen to quit Old Trafford.

Sanchez feels lost at United - having scored just four goals since signing from Arsenal in January.

But what happens regarding a potential transfer remains to be seen.

For now, the priority is putting Chelsea to the sword at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Red Devils have lost their last three visits to west London.

And they were also pipped to the FA Cup by the Blues, who won the final at Wembley back in May.
