Charlie Lakin doubtful for home clash with Reading

Birmingham midfielder Charlie Lakin is a doubt for the visit of Reading.

The 19-year-old picked up a quad injury in training and missed the 1-0 win at Stoke but is close to a return.

Isaac Vassell (knee) and David Davis (ankle) remain long-term absentees for boss Gary Monk but Vassell is back training.

Captain Michael Morrison continues to wear a mask to protect his broken nose.

Goalkeeper Anssi Jaakkola is likely to continue in goal for Reading after his first start of the season in the 3-1 win over Millwall.

Saeid Ezatolahi remains sidelined after he picked up an unspecified injury on international duty with Iran.

Jon Dadi Bodvarsson (calf), Sam Baldock (calf) and John O’Shea (hamstring) all missed out at the weekend and remain doubts.

Dave Edwards, Jordan Obita, Omar Richards and Adrian Popa are also currently out injured.
