Manchester United vs Newcastle - Young back in United mix
Posted Friday, October 05, 2018 by PA
Ashley Young is back in contention for Manchester United’s Premier League clash with Newcastle after missing the Champions League draw against Valencia with an unspecified injury.
Marcos Rojo, Jesse Lingard and Ander Herrera also sat out the midweek match through injury and remain absent this weekend.
Phil Jones, Andreas Pereira and Diogo Dalot will be hoping to be involved after being left out of the squad in midweek.
Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez will make late checks on defenders Paul Dummett and Federico Fernandez.
Both men missed last weekend’s 2-0 home defeat to Leicester with hamstring injuries and will be assessed ahead of kick-off.
Striker Salomon Rondon is still out with a thigh injury, while central defender Florian Lejeune continues his recovery from knee ligament damage.
