Liverpool have reportedly submitted a record-breaking offer for Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak.

Reports emerged last week that Liverpool were plotting to rival Arsenal for Oblak, who has been valued at €100m (£87m).

But according to Don Balon, a Spanish outlet famous for its outlandish transfer claims, the Reds have tested the water with a bid worth €90m (£79m).

The report claims that Liverpool are confident that Atletico will accept the offer.

The deal would make Oblak the most expensive goalkeeper in history and would be a huge signal of intent from the club.

Liverpool will not sign Lyon star Nabil Fekir this week despite reports that he's set to undergo a medical.

Reports had suggested that he was due to be at Anfield today to complete the deal, but the 24-year-old was nowhere to be seen.

And it has emerged that any deal will have to wait until next month because of Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas.

The Daily Mirror's northern football correspondent David Maddock took to Twitter to explain the latest developments.

He said: "Fekir did NOT travel to Liverpool this weekend.

"No deal imminent. He has told Lyon he wants to go, but discussions still in formative stages.

"French club president Jean-Michel Aulas keen to wait until after World Cup in hope of fee increase. Fekir will leave and wants @LFC."

Jurgen Klopp has to buy a new goalkeeper to replace Loris Karius this summer, according to Reds legend Robbie Fowler.

The former striker has urged him to bring in somebody that will be able to perform when it matters.

"I felt for Loris Karius, and I don't want to crucify him," he told the Mirror.

"But if you are there in these big games, then you have to be ready to perform. And obviously he didn't.

"I'm sure it is a position Klopp will look at now. He needs to."
