Watford star Brice Dja Djedje has been arrested and accused of domestic violence in France
WATFORD defender Brice Dja Djedje has been arrested - after being accused of domestic violence.
The Ivory Coast international, a £3million Hornets buy from Marseille in 2016, is currently on loan to Ligue 2 club Lens.
But the 27-year-old reportedly spent Thursday night in the cells at Arras police station after cops seized him at his flat in the northern French town.
Reports claim worried neighbours rang police after hearing a heated confrontation between Dja Djedje and his girlfriend at the property on Arras' main square Grand-Place.
Multiple sources confirmed that the player had been arrested, and prosecutors have opened an enquiry.
Both Watford and Lens have declined to comment.
Dja Djedje made just two FA Cup appearances in an injury-hit first season at Vicarage Road.
The right-back joined Lens in search of more playing time last month after failing to break into the Hornets' first team this season.
Capped eight times, the former Paris Saint-Germain trainee first made his name with Evian before joining Marseille in 2014.
Watford travel to West Ham tomorrow looking to build on their 4-1 win against Chelsea last Monday.
