We have obtained footage appearing to show the Dutch international, 27, at west London shisha lounge Beirut Nights on October 21.

Witness Naeem Hussein says he saw the left-back with three girls in the North Acton venue at around 11.30pm.

That means Van Aanholt managed to get back to London after the 1-0 defeat to Newcastle – which kicked off at 3pm – in time for the evening.

The Dutchman – who got a yellow card in the match – was previously pictured smoking a hookah pipe in Newcastle August.

Naeem, 22, a staff allocation officer at Heathrow Airport, exclusively told Daily Star Online: "At first I saw him in the dining part of the restaurant eating.

PARTY: Patrick van Aanholt appears to be enjoying a shisha

"When we sat down to have a smoke, he was having a smoke with three girls.

"I assumed he wouldn’t smoke because he had played that day.

"In fact, I couldn’t believe he was even in London and wondered how he had got back from Newcastle in time."

Naeem was at the spot for his cousin Amir Miyanji’s 27th birthday, and while videoing the birthday appeared to catch Van Aanholt on camera.

The Liverpool fan added: "I think he was blowing off some steam after the game.

"Of course, it is bad. There are a few footballers who do it and the way he was smoking, it looked like he was used to it and he was unfit.

"I was quite shocked because footballers need a healthy lifestyle and shisha definitely isn’t a part of it. It really does affect the lungs.

"We were there for a good two hours and he was there before we got there and stayed after we left. So he was smoking for a good while."

He continued: "He had three girls with him. I saw getting a bit close to the one beside him. They were sharing the same pipe."

On his Instagram page, Van Aanholt appears to be sporting the same outfit in a post he put on the site a few weeks before.

He regularly posts snaps of himself a woman who appears to be his partner and his son.

Van Aanholt moved to the Eagles in January in a deal from Sunderland for a fee believed to be around £14million.

On their website, the British Heart Foundation states: "Like cigarettes (shisha) contains nicotine, tar, carbon monoxide and heavy metals, such as arsenic and lead."

Shisha pipes, most commonly used in the Middle East, are used to smoke fruit-flavoured tobacco, which is burned on hot coals, through a long tube.

It is said that one single shisha session is equal to smoking around 200 cigarettes.

A Crystal Palace spokesperson that represents Van Aanholt thanked the Daily Star Online for brining the footage to their attention, but declined to comment.
