European champions who immediately left Real Madrid

It is never easy when a player with such history with the club decides to leave Real Madrid and this summer Pepe will join a list of European champions who went on to quickly depart the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

It is often said that any move away from Real Madrid is a backwards step yet for Pepe it comes after a storied career in the Spanish capital in which he gave everything for the badge.

Despite not being part of the matchday squad Pepe remains a European champion and he took to Instagram to send a farewell message to supporters.

After 10 seasons with Los Blancos he will leave with Paris Saint-Germain the most likely destination and in doing so he follows in the footsteps of Nicolas Anelka and Miguel Munoz who both left the club at the very top.
