A whopping 4,000 travelling Brits are in the German city for tonight’s big match.
And they are clearly enjoying themselves – with chaotic pictures emerging of smashed lager bottles hurled across the main square.
Footie fans were filmed singing war-themed chants and throwing bottles as riot police scrambled to ease the carnage.
Supporters have even been heard chanting: "have you ever seen a German win a war?"
WAR ZONE: Violence has erupted in Dortmund's main square
LOUD AND PROUD: Stoke City fans are among the England faithful
It comes after Daily Star Online revealed how Dortmund firms are ready and waiting to start mass brawls this evening.
They are determined to get their own back after Roy Hodgson’s England beat Germany 3-2 in Berlin last year.
And Three Lions fans were caught up in clashes last night – being put in lockdown in what has been described as a “war zone”.
Many on social media have commented on the chaos with cops putting rowdy fans in their place.
One lad commented on Facebook: "My pal has just messaged me and said it's like a war zone over there everywhere is on lock down and closed up."
Another wrote: "Am here now, police stormed us for no reason!"
