Real Madrid tried to sue someone for £5million because they bantered Pepe off the park

Playful banter is an essential part of football.
It's literally the only reason Dream Team exists so when people can't a joke and start throwing lawsuits around we get very nervous.
Thankfully, Real Madrid's attempt to sue a Catalan television channel over a jokey video they did about Pepe has failed.
Televisio de Catalanya ran a video depicting Madrid's Portuguese defender as Hannibal Lecter following his infamous stamp on Lionel Messi's hand back in 2013.
Madrid didn't think the comparison to the cannibal murderer from Silence of the Lambs was particularly funny and tried to sue the network for £5.2million.
Basically, they were fully T R I G G E R E D!
Initially, a Madrid court ruled in favour of Los Blancos, ordering Televisio de Catalanya to pay damages for 'crossing the line of free speech'.
Fun sponges.
Luckily, the case was referred to the Supreme Court who overruled the initial verdict and declared that the video was simply a 'sarcastic and humorous take on the rivalry between the two teams'.
It was just banter - classic excuse.
