Memphis Depay sends goodbye messages to just FOUR Manchester United players

Memphis Depay sent thank you messages to just four of his Manchester United teammates as he prepares to join Lyon.

The Dutchman fell out of favour at Old Trafford and so completed a £17million switch to Ligue 1.

The 22-year-old took to Twitter to send Wayne Rooney, Paul Pogba, David De Gea and Luke Shawall individual tweets. He also thanked Man United fans.

"Thanks for all the memories during my time as a Red Devil. I will never forget all your support at @ManUtd," he tweeted.

To Rooney, Depay sent: "Legend thank you for everything that made me feel like home."

To Pogba, he wrote: "Thanks @paulpogba... until our next battle on the pitch... Go Big or Go Home."

He tweeted Luke Shaw:

And he also praised Old Trafford shot stopper, De Gea:

Despite not impressing manager Jose Mourinho, the Portuguese has left the door open for Depay to return.

"In the World Cup he had flashes of top quality. He was playing well in Holland. We know that the Dutch league is not the same, but he was showing very good things," he told Mirror Online.

"I think Mr van Gaal and Manchester United did very well to buy him. It did not succeed in these 18 months, I would say, but he's very young and I would say it's very important for the club to have control of his talent.

"We all wish he plays very, very well at Olympique Lyonnaise and why not then come back because everyone here likes him."
