Bamford spent the 2014-15 season on loan at Boro, scoring 19 goals as they reached the Championship Play-Off final.

Bamford has had loans at six clubs including Crystal Palace, Norwich City.

Patrick Bamford struggled at Burnley on loan this season

He spent the first half of this season at Burnley but played just 34 minutes of football in six substitute appearances.

Bamford is Boro boss Aitor Karanka’s second signing of the January window after the arrival of Rudy Gestede.
