Ayr Utd. 0 - 1 Falkirk: James Craigen fires Falkirk to victory at Ayr
Posted Sunday, November 20, 2016 by PA
A James Craigen strike was sufficient for Falkirk as they prevailed 1-0 at Ayr.
The Bairns hit the front after a quarter of an hour. A John Baird back-heel and a threaded ball from Aaron Muirhead helped to release the midfielder, who beat the goalkeeper down low.
Lee Miller nearly put Peter Houston's men two clear just before half-time, finding himself clean through from a long punt upfield by David McCracken. Keeper Greg Fleming denied him, though.
The away side continued to make the running in the second half, and Baird struck the post. They were visibly cursing their luck when Craigen also hit the frame of the goal minutes later.
