Port Vale vs Peterborough United - Anthony Grant suspended for Port Vale's clash with Peterborough

Anthony Grant will sit out Port Vale's Sky Bet League One home clash with Peterborough due to suspension.

The midfielder has to serve a one-match ban after picking up his fifth booking of the season in last weekend's 1-0 loss at Southend.

His place could be taken by Michael O'Connor, who is in contention for his maiden first-team appearance of the season having featured for the reserves recently as he continues his recovery from a knee injury.

Defender Remie Streete should be available after missing the Southend game having suffered a blow to the head.

Posh midfielder Chris Forrester faces a race against time to be fit for the trip after he was substituted in last Saturday's 2-1 win at Swindon with a shin injury.

Defensive duo Jack Baldwin and Kgosi Ntlhe and midfielder Harry Beautyman remain sidelined with long-term injuries, while playmaker Erhun Oztumer is suspended.

Ben Alnwick is in line to face his younger brother Jak, also a goalkeeper, for the first time in competitive action on Saturday.

Alnwick said: "I'm trying not to get too wrapped up in it, but it's difficult. Ideally Jak will have a really good game, but we will win 1-0."
