GUNN-ZALO ... Gonzalo Higuain
CARLOS TEVEZ’S £10million move to Juventus has pushed Gonzalo Higuain closer to Arsenal.
The Real Madrid striker has agreed terms of £125,000 a week with the Gunners, taking him above current highest earners Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott and Lukas Podolski.
Now he is hoping the £22m move will be sanctioned by new Real boss Carlo Ancelotti.
Higuain, 25, had been a long-term target for Juventus.
But the player’s brother Nicolas has confirmed that after Tevez leapfrogged him in the Old Lady’s affections, the Argentine star is on the brink of an Emirates move.
He said: “If Tevez joins Juve, is Higuain closer to Arsenal? I think so.
“Juventus is a great club but Gonzalo is too expensive for them. I cannot deny that Gonzalo is now close to Arsenal.”
Boss Arsene Wenger also has his eye on Everton midfield ace Marouane Fellaini.
