Already the star of the show so far in the summer transfer market, French club Monaco is reported to be studying what would be the most sensational transfer swoop of the
summer. According to English newspaper 'The Independent', the club from the principality is willing to pay Real Madrid €100 million for Cristiano Ronaldo, which if confirmed would become the biggest transfer fee in the history of football.
Russian multi-millionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev is the owner of the side that has already signed James Rodríguez, Moutinho and Falcao, despite having just been promoted to the French Ligue 1. Rybolovlev is in a determined mood and is not cutting corners in his bid to return Monaco to the elite of the European game.
According to 'The Independent', the French side wants to take advantage of the rumours that Ronaldo may not be happy at Real Madrid and that he still has two years left on his contract. A fact that could force Real to sell the player if he is not willing to extend his contract.
